Harry E. Trotsek (April 18, 1912 - February 5, 1997) was an American Hall of Fame trainer and owner of Thoroughbred racehorses. He trained 96 stakes race winners including Champions Hasty Road, Moccasin, Oil Capitol, and Stan, and led all North American trainers in purse winnings in 1953.〔(Harry Trotsek at the United States' National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame )〕 〔Personal knowledge, nephew〕 For nearly three decades, Harry Trotsek trained for Allie E. Reuben's Hasty House Farm stable as well as for other prominent owners such as the Whitney family's Greentree Stable and Lucille P. Markey's Calumet Farm, (Franklin "O.F." Woodward, Jr., the Jello King ). Trotsek was widely respected for his development of young jockeys including such riders as Johnny Sellers, Kenny Church and John Rotz.〔(''Sports Illustrated'' - August 10, 1959 )〕 ==Retirement== After fifty-seven years as a trainer, Harry Trotsek retired in 1988.
